For 2009 Sirte African Summit Meetings small local airport of Sirte has been renewed by Ersa within 5 months to accommodate International

flights. New terminal building with VIP Lounge has been constructed as Steel Construction, kalzip roofing with glazing facade coverings. Air control tower has been rehabilitated and recovered while new operational softwares and systems have been installed. Runway and apron floor concrete have been poured by using Massenza concrete pavers.
